Heart boxes for Valentine's

I have made several little treat boxes for Valentine's Day. Above are some fry shaped boxes. I also made several little heart topped folded boxes.

Some of the boxes have an open heart at the top of the handle.
Others have a open window on the side.

Then I made a different style of fry box. I could not decide which style I liked best so I just included both in the cut files.

If you would like the cut files to make your own heart topped boxes,
you can purchase the files at my Etsy shop.

Valentine's Day Cards

Happy Valentine's Day! I hope you are all feeling loved.
I have a couple of cards to share today. One is the card I made for my husband.

I was tired of the traditional reds and pinks and decided to go with black and blue. I heat embossed the black cardstock with clear embossing powder for the background. The hearts are die cuts that I inked with Distress Stains, embossed, and inked over the raised areas. I have been hoarding the bling, but since my hubby picked it out for me in the first place, I figured this would be a good time to use it.

I also did some cards for a swap. I used red and black for those.
Many of you saw this same design last year, but I liked it so much I decided to use it again. LOL

Hope you have a great weekend!

Small Heart Boxes

Well, you may remember the heart boxes that I made last year? I designed a different version this year. I kept looking at my most recent card and came up with a color scheme for one of these little hearts

Here is a shot with the card and the box together so you can see how I patterned the box after the heart on the card.

I used blue card stock and embossed it. The I rubbed Walnut Stain Distress ink over the raised areas. I just love this look. :)
This particular box is approximately 3 1/2 by 3 inches. Perfect size for a sweet little treat!.

I could not stop with just 1. I had to make more. In fact, I plan to make several for a project I am working on. They would probably be great to make for a class or friends too.

Here is a picture where you can peak into the inside.

I added a multi-layered flower on top.

Here is a different color combo I made using some My Mind's Eye 6 by 6 paper; Fiddlesticks.

I will have a the cut files available in my Etsy shop.
I have some cool ideas for more of these little boxes, so stay tuned. :)

Oh! In case you missed last year's boxes, here is a picture and links to the posts and video.

Late Valentine Picts

Well,  I am a little late in posting this. Hope you all had a great Valentine's Day.

Here is a picture of the car I made for my sweetie. (I took over a dozen pictures because the red did not show up well. This was as good as I could get. I promise the ribbon matches in person...LOL)
I have not quilled in a while. He always likes quilling though so I figured I make him a heart.

I stamped in the inside And added a tag that I got from MTCSCAL-E-Files a couple of years ago.
(Sorry Ladies, the rest of the inside is just for my hubby LOL)

I also made him a cute pillow box using a printable file from BlueCat. She has some awesome files that she generously gives away for free. Go check out her files at CartezChezBlueCat.
Be sure and leave some blog love :)

Loving eyes

Hello bloggy friends.
I was playing around with my heart files and came up with these really cute heart shaped glasses. I used to the the queen of fun glasses and hats when I taught school. My co-workers all came to expect that I would have some type of fun wearable item for each holiday or major event. Now that my teacher files are all packed away, this was a fun memory.
You can download the cut files and PDF printable pattern by going to  Cuttin' Up With Class.

I cut these glasses out of plain card stock and was about to cut patterned paper to put on top. Then my hubby walked in with the mail and a package from my Secret Sweetie swap group from The Crafter's Cafe. It was filled with all sorts of fun Valentine's craft goodies.
THANKS Sherry Wegner!

So I was compelled to stamp and emboss the glasses. Then I added some gems and stickers.

Don't these just scream fun!

Head on over to the CUWC blog to get the files and details.

Inking embossed paper

Hey there! I have one last heart shaped box to show. (Hope you are not tired of them yet)
This is the one I made in the video on my last post.

The matching card is in front and the box lid is behind it. The bottom of the box is peeking through in the very back.

I made a video about how I decorated the boxes. The assembly video ran so long that I did not include it.

While I had everything out, I went ahead and did a short video on how to ink the embossed area like I did on this card.

I am entering this box in the Decorate to Celebrate -  Valentine challenge (Thanks Rhonda:)

Heart Shaped Box

With Valentine's Day fast approaching, I made a decorative heart shaped box.

I used some old Anna Griffin paper that I stocked up on a while back. Along with colored cardstock and white cs that I inked. (Antique Linen and Fired Brick) Then I topped it of with one of my handmade open roses. (I have made a tutorial put I need to make a few changes and my body just has not cooperated with me this week...so it is coming soon)

Check it out, I even stamped the inside. (notice I did not get a close up picture of the stamped areas. LOL

I added a decorative heart flourish to the side.

It will be perfect for sending some craft goodies to my "secret sweetie" swap group over at The Crafter's Cafe'.

The cut files, templates, and video will be available tomorrow.
