Blue flowers

Hello again, I just could not wait to show more flowers. I don't want to show the whole project until my cousin sees her invitation. Here are some of the flowers I used. Her wedding colors are dark blue and white chocolate.
Here is another flower using the tatered flower cut file. (see post below this one) I used French Vanilla Bazzill cardstock and Chipped Sapphire TH Distressing ink. There is a half pearl and gold micro-beads in the center.

Similar colors with the "pretty flower" cut file. (You can get the cut file here and see a picture tutorial here). There are gold micro-beads in the center.

Here is the same flower that I sprayed with Sapphire Glimmer Mist. The shimmer does not show in the picture but it is really pretty in person. There is a rhinestone in the center.

Red flowers

Hello blogging buddies,

Sorry I have neglected my blog for a while. I was busy while my son was on Spring break and then was busy making samples of wedding invitations for my cousin. I don't want to post pictures on the invitations until she gets to look at them in person. Here are some flowers that I made but did not use. They are so cool I just had to share them.

This one was inspired by some of the beautiful flowers that Lisa makes over at What a Beautiful Mess. I somtimes sit and just look at her blog for long periods of time just to take in all her wonderful creations. The cut file is patterned after Tin Holtz's tattered flowers die. (cut file at bottom of post) I think the paper was DCWV. I like the texture on it. I put silver seed beads in the center for a little sparkle. (Gotta' have some bling)
This one is similar. I used the same cut file on ivory Bazzil paper and inked it with TH Distress Ink-Barn Door. I used red seed beads that sort of have a pearlised effect to them.

I have used this flower on other projects. I just wanted to show it off with silver seed beads in the center. Pretty!

Well that's all for now. I sure did miss blogging about my creations. Taking a break was fun put I had to get back to my obsession! LOL

Special cut files for followers

Hello there blog friends! I am feeling MUCH better today. Thought I would share some special cut files that I have been working on.

First there is a set of flowers that I made to use with Cri-Kits pens.
You can also stack them.

I have not decided what project to use them on yet, but thought they were cool.
You can also use it as a digi file.

I also spent some time looking at Hawaiian quilts recently. They are beautiful quilts that usually use two colors and involve a lot of symmetrical patterns. I think they are gorgeous. Here is my card version.

You have to set your digital cutter on a slow speed and be rather gentle when taking the cut image off the mat, but I think it is worth the effort.

I will gladly share these files with you if you are a follower of my blog or become a follower.
Just leave me a comment below or email me at papercompulsions@gmail.com .
Be sure and leave me your email address and specify which type of file you would like. ( for example: svg, scut, eps, dxf) I will try to send it to you as quickly as possible.

Thanks!

stamped flower challenge

Hello, this is my entry for this week's Stampin' Sisters in Christ challege.
The stamp does such a great job shading that it comes out really well when I color it.

The scripture for the challenge is:

Scripture: Isaiah 40:8 "The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand forever."

The challenge was to use stamped flowers.

Hand is hurting and have to keep it short :)

Cala Lilies Cut out

Hello blogger friends! Still have a splint on my hand so I have to keep it simple and short.

I was looking at pictures of quilts and saw a beautiful quilt of Cala L:ilies. Inspired me to make a cut file patterned after the quilt. the top card is just the cut image layered on paper and has a simple ribbon. The bottom card is the cut image on top of white vellum then layered on paper with a bow and pearls.

As usual, here are the cut files.
Hope you enjoy and please comment.
If you use the file, please send me a picture. I would love to see your creations.

Dancing in the rain

Life is not about running from the storms. It is about trusting in God and learning to dance in the rain.

I have had plenty of storms in my life. Most of my life I kept trying to run from all the storms in life. So many times I wondered why God did not keep the storms from me or give me a bigger umbrella. In the last few years I finally learned that I should be trusting in God to lead me through the storms. I know that He is using the hard times in life to mold me, shape me, and form character.  Now that I understand this I'm learning to view the storms differently. I know God has the power to calm the weather but sometimes He just wants me to hold His hand lead me through it.

This is a card I'm entering for the Stampin Sisters in Christ challenge # 78. The scripture reference is:
Psalm 9:10 "Those who know your name will trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you."

I had a cyst in my hand so I had to keep it simple this week. This is a cut file I got several months ago. Couldn't resist this cute little ducky.

For the challenge I had to include three buttons or something that "secures".
If you look closely I used paper lacquer on the splashing water.
Hope you enjoy.
