Cards for Project I Care

Been busy making cards for Project I Care.

Just what is this Project I Care?
Well, first a little backstory...

I helped my mother in law search for wigs and undergarments after she underwent a mastectomy and chemo. It was such a difficult time for her. Finding specialty items to help her feel better about her changing body was not easy. We found a great little store that catered just to breast cancer patients and survivors. Their kindness and help was wonderful.

Jim, the Gentleman Crafter, had an amazing opportunity through his day job to organise a boutique for special items for breast cancer patients. All the proceeds go back to the Breast Cancer Center .

Jim started Project I Care to ask crafters to make cards for the staff and volunteers at the Breast Cancer Center Boutique to send to store patrons to say thank you and encourage them.

If you would like more information about this project and find out how you can help, just go to this link on Jim's blog. Project I Care

Birdsong card

Well, I know that Graphic 45's Birdsong paper line has been out a while, but we never really get tired of seeing it....right?

It has taken me a while to cut into these papers. LOL

I started with a base of the lady in the Kimono then layered a couple of frames on top.

Next I added my branch cut file and then added small flowers.

Then I punched a few little butterflies, stamped on them, and added them to the card.
(you know me and tiny little details LOL)

My niece, who loves Oriental art, was thrilled to receive it. Now that I have finally cut into the papers maybe I will feel freer to use the rest of them. LOL

New LSG Under the Boardwalk Sprays

I have a couple of chalkboard cards to share with you. I have use the  Under the Boardwalk LSG sprays for the flowers, leaves, and cardbase. Theses lovely sprays are not shimmery like the regular Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays. They appear a little chalky when they dry. There is no chalky residue though so they are great to use on all sorts of projects.

For this A2 sized card,

I started with a white cardstock base and applied the Raspberry Lemonade LSG using one of the Lindy's "Old Baldy" Dauber Caps  instead of the spray nozzle.

Then I trimmed the top and sides from this sheet from the Prima Optimist 6 by 6 paper pad.

I adhered it to the cardbase.

Next, I cut a white cardstock mat and another piece of paper from the 6 by 6 pad and added some seem binding that I colored with the Raspberry Lemonade.

Then I cut a white cardstock mat for one of the chalk note cards and added some of my handmade flowers that I colored with the LSG sprays.
The centers are from the gems package for the Prima Optimist line.

For this 5 1/2 by 7 1/2 card, I colored the white card base as before, added a layer of MME Chalk Studio patterned paper.
The top layers are chalkboard cards from the Prima Chalk Note Cards pack.
I added one of my flowers colored with the LSG Under the Boardwalk Set and placed a button in the center from the Prima Optimist Wooden Button set.
The banners from the Optimist chipboard stickers set finished it off.

Be sure and drop by the Scrapadabadoo blog to see the other lovely cards I made with the LSG Under the Boardwalk sprays.
