Birthday tri-fold card

It is time for another Paper Crafting World challenge. This week the challenge is "birthday and glitter".  I made a tri-fold card and decorated it using the cake form Melin's "Birthday Girl Bear" cut files.

I started with a triangle that was 10 1/2 inches long and 5 1/2 inches high. I scored it at 3 1/2 inches and 7 inches.
Next, I cut 2 of each cake piece and decorated them. (the 2 sets will be glued to each other front & back so you have to make sure you decorate the correct sides) Starting with folded triangle card base, glue the MIDDLE cake piece to to the middle section of the card base. (I chose to put the larger edge of the cake just slightly above the highest folded edge.) Then glue the matching cake piece to the opposite side. (front and back)
Next I adhered the front and back of the bottom cake pieces and the the top cake pieces.
I also added candles.

Hope that made sense.

Here is a cut file for a regular tri-fold card:

If Melin does not mind, I will post the card base I made just for her cake pieces later.(It is a little easier to use but rather difficult for me to explain.)

Very cool card Jani! I've never seen one before. So very clever to make the layered cake with the stand up candles! I love it :)
