Yay! Summer

Well, it looks like Summer may actually come after all. It was such a crazy Winter and Spring that I was beginning to wonder if Summer would make it or not.

The fun colors in the Bo Bunny Lemonade Stand paper line reflect the excitement of summer activities to come.

The dark navy cardbase is A2 sized. Then there is a layer of white cardstock cut at 5 1/4 by 4 inches. Next is a green layer cut from the Lemonade Stand 6 by 6 pad. It is cut at 3 7/8 by 5 1/8 inches. Next is the red Double Dot layer that is 3 by 4 1/2 inches. (Scrapadabadoo has the Bo Bunny Double Dot papers that match the Lemonade Stand line in a convenient cardstock paper pack) The "Yay Summer" sign with it's colorful background is from the cut apart sheet that comes in the 12 by 12 papers. The ticket sticker border is included too. There was a cute little flower on the cut apart tag but since this card is going to an 11 year old boy I thought I would cover it up. LOL The chipboard star from the button pack worked perfectly. 

The card sketch for this Scrapadabadoo Crafts FB challenge
includes a banner. I used twine and pieces cut from the 6 by 6 
paper pad to make the two banners on my card. 

There is a banner in the embellishment pack that is ready to be used but I already have big plans for it. LOL

Crabby Pals for Make the Cut Challenge

I am a featured designer this week for the Make The Cut challenge! (yeah)
I designed these cute little Crabby Pals cut files in honor of the occasion.

You can download the cut files and assembly guide here.

You can use the red crab or the hermit crab or both of these cute little crustaceans.

They go together really easily.

Here is a card I made for a little inspiration. 

The patterned papers are from Echo Park's Hello Summer line designed by Lori Whitlock.

I think they add a perfect cheerful Summer time feeling.

For the sand and sea layers, I tore strips of kraft and Core-dinations papers. The strips only have adhesive on three sides so they make little pockets. That way the crab and flip flops can be moved around. 

The umbrella and sun are printed stickers that I raised with pop dots. (I put a little powder on the back of the stickers so it would neutralize the adhesive and not stick to the actual card.) The umbrella has pop dots in the center and is attached to the card on the top and both sides. It looks like it is opening up right off the page.

The flip flops have tiny ribbon going through them. SO cute!

When I think about summer, I think of picnics.

It seems like no matter were we go during the summer,

the zoo, the park, or camping,

 we are always taking a break during the day to have a meal or even a snack.

And were you have food...

... the ants are sure to come!

Aren't these little guys cute! I just love the little ant with the watermelon :)

I made the cut files, cut them,  and inked the edges, (it comes together really quick)

Then I added some red & white checkered patterned paper and grass.

The grass would not cut at exactly 12 inches so I made one long srtip and one short piece that join together.

I added my "loopy tags" and some stictched ribbon and I was done.

I also made this little card.

The cut file comes with the holes for the stitching included. I used red embroidery thread. It does not take but a few minutes to stitch up.

Paper Dolls Challenge Week #4 Flip Flops

What a fun challenge this week over at the Paper Dolls Blog! It is challenge #4 and the theme is Flip Flops!

Eleanor of SVG Shop has provided these really fun flip flop boxes.

Aren't these adorable!

I added felt ribbon instead of the paper pieces for the foot.

Then I added some ribbon with beaded trim to the edge of the box lid.

This was so much fun you have to try it out for yourself :)
