Stampin Sisters in Christ

Well I have not done many challenges in the past several weeks. I have missed playing along with Stampin' Sisters In Christ the most. They always have a great craft challenge along with a great spiritual challenge.

This week Rebekka Reed from A Diamond in the Rough was in charge of the challenge. Rebekka's  blog was one of the very first craft blogs I came across about 1 1/2 years ago. She was one of my very first followers. I have really enjoyed reading her posts and hearing her testimony. She is in the process of moving right now so the posts have been fewer the past few weeks. I have found myself wanting to check out her blog several times even though I know she is too busy to post. It has made me realize just how much I appreciate the chance to "socialize" with other Christian women crafters even though I can't physically get out and go places without tremendous pain. I am so thankful to Rebekka and all of you other ladies who have opened your craft room doors and the doors to a part of your lives to let others in.

Speaking of doors...This week's challenge is to create a door or window project. The scripture reference is. Mt. 7:7-8 7 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened."

This verse not only refers to seeking God's saving grace. It also means that what ever we are struggling with in life, if we seek God's will and guidance, we will find it. It may not be the answer we want or ever thought we would get. If we "die" to our own will and seek God's will, we will find the life He intended us to live.

Here is what I came up wiith.

The original door cut file was from my country house card several months ago. I made it into a card and  used a brad for the doorknob. I made a Fall swag for the front complete with little flowers. (of course) I also added loves from a little maple leaf punch I bought ages ago. I colored the leaves with alcohol ink.

The "door" challenge will end in a few hours. (yes, I waited until the last minute) Head on over to Stampin Sisters In Christ Sunday and get in on the brand new challenge. They never disappoint.

Hi there Jani this is very lovely and very cleverly done and I too have not joined in many challenges never seem to have time..
I love how Christ comes into these though and too often in life we leave Him, our precious Saviour, on the other side of the door of our life... so thanks for sharing and God's blessings and strengthening on your health too,

What a wonderful card! The little swag is just fantastic! If I didn't know better, I would think it was a photo of an actual door! Incredible work!!

What a creative, fabulous card! I agree with Kate, it does look like an actual door! The decoration is just beautiful! What a great card :)
