Thank you for Quilt

Wow, it has been almost 3 weeks since I posted. I think this is the longest amount of time I have ever gone without posting to my blog. All is well. I just got busy with Christmas stuff.

I made this card as a very special "thank you" for my friend, Judy.

She made me a beautiful quilt!
Yes, a lovely quilt just for me!
I am not sure I deserve it, but I REALLY appreciate it. It makes me warm on the inside and outside. I think about all the work and effort that went into making it and I feel "hugged" :)

It has my very favorite colors and wonderful butterflies.

So I wanted to make her a special thank you card. I used more Bo Bunny The Avenues patterned paper and some beads from Art Glitter...

It is called Gala Glitz (brown) and contains seed beads, micro beads, glitter and mica flakes. It is so very pretty. I used it for the centers of the flowers and the swirls. For the swirls, I used a stencil to lightly trace the pattern then went over the line with white glue. Then I just sprinkled the Gala Glitz on like glitter.

Hope you all have a wonderful holiday season and a very merry Christmas.
I will post again soon.

Black and White with Open Flowers

Another black and white step card with splashes of red.
This time I used some paper from a black and white K & Co stack and made Open Flowers (instead of Open Roses) This is an easy flower that gives a lot of punch. You can see the video tutorial for this flower here.

I added some Recollections bling and a Diamond Edge border with colored seam binding.

Sympathy Card with Open Rose

As many of you know. my dad passed away last month. His sister is the only sibling from his family that is still living. She had another loss this past week. Her husband passed away. I wanted to make her a special card.

I used some patterned paper that is flocked. Red mats were added and lots of red bling. I made an Open Rose and added one of my Diamond edged border with dyed seam binding woven through it.

The step card files and instructions can be found on this page.
The Open Rose and Diamond Edged Decorations can be found on my Etsy shop.

Altered Paper Mache Box with Open Flower

I altered this paper mache box back in August before we moved to a new house. In all the business of moving, I never shared the box.

I used my Diamond Edged Designs cut files for the doilies and borders. Added ink and pearls then topped it off with one of my handmade Open Roses.

Here is a really short video showing the finished box. (about 3 minutes)
The names of the cut files and inks are mentioned in the video.

Butterfly and Pretty Flower decorations for mini and card

I posted pictures of this mini album that I recently made using long envelopes, chipboard, and cardstock.

Before I gave it as a present, I made a matching Center Step Card using my butterfly and
"pretty" flower cut files.

Here is a short video so you can have a better look.

The cut files for the card as well as the decorations for the long envelope mini are available in my Etsy shop.

Thanks for stopping by.

Cropped Event Challenge 5

Hello again. I have another project for the Cropped Event Challenge #5. We had to ONLY USE paper. (and of course the adhesive of choice). Well, my followers know that if I have paper, glue, and my electronic cutting machine, I am all set. :)

I made a 5 1/2 inch square card with my Diamond Edged doilies and my Open Rose.
The card stock and patterned paper are from the mystery box I received for the event. I added some ivory card stock of my own.

The rose is one of my handmade paper roses. I use my cutter to cut the petals and then shape them and glue them in place. (If you look really close you can see the glue in the center because I was rushing and did not let it dry completely) LOL
Here is the paper after I cut my shapes.

Notice I also use up every scrap of paper. The other half of this sheet was used for the card base.

Detailed Butterfly Gatefold

Well, I have been really busy settling in after moving. I really love my new craft space and have been able to do a few crafts. Here is a butterfly gatefold card I made for a friend.

I used my Detailed Butterfly die cuts and my Diamond Edge files. (can be found on my Etsy site)
I embossed the 2 side panels and then went over them with a white chalk ink pad. It gives such a light and dainty feel to the card.

More to come...

Diamond Edged Borders

Isn't it pretty? I am loving it!
I am not exactly sure what to call this design. I started out playing with one of my old files that I called "Decorative Diamond Design".

I turned it, twisted it, and modified it until I ended up with this pretty lacy decorative edge.

This is two different round decorations with shadow pieces stacked together. I topped it with my "Open Rose"

*****I am working on instructional videos for the open rose this weekend****** I should have it ready soon. (It has taken me months to figure out how to explain it.)

But back to my diamond edge design...

I also used the design on either side of the middle piece on this gate fold card.

I even used a strip of it to make a beautiful rosette.

Putting the rose on top of the rosette was just too much for the top of the card so I will use it somewhere else. LOVE the way it looks though!

The set is available at my Etsy store.

I already have great plans for this design. Borders, mats, edges of cards...wonder how it would look to run ribbon in and out through the curved slits on the sides?????

I will let you know soon. LOL
