I gathered several sheets of patterned paper from an old K & Co. stack and a few from a new Recollections pack called Love Letters. (new favorite because of all the glitter)
My Lynx got to work cutting several different sizes of a simple butterfly pattern. Then I added Aleene's Tack It Over and Over glue to the back of each one and let it dry. This allowed me to re-position the little beauties over and over again until I got a heart shape that I was happy with.
My hubby saw it when it was still in progress and suggested I leave a few of the butterflies on one side to look like they were flying off.
I can not decide which one I like best. So please tell me...
Are you team symmetry? Or team asymmetry?
Just leave a comment to the post.
I am eager to know your opinions! :)
I also cut some butterflies from this checkered glitter paper. They are very pretty but just did not fit with the other patterns. I grouped them off in another area like this.
It is a very easy concept and I think it looks really nice.
Don't forget to leave a comment and let me know which heart shape you like the best.
Thanks!

Jani, what a great idea!!! The butterflies are beautiful and look beautiful grouped on your wall! I particularly love the ones that look like they are flying away and leaving the rest!
ah geeez, I can't decide either. The one flying away has more of an impact I suppose. I am so going to do this for my little niece. Thanks for sharing the idea.

The butterfly idea is gorgeous and I love the symmetrical one
and Thank you so much for the kind words on my Foam Flower Cala Lily tutorial
I love the first one:)
I like the flying away one too, but love them all!!
What a brilliant idea! Love those butterflies but have to say I prefer the 2nd one. It reminds me of how birds tend to fly in formation.

Jani I love both of the design's,if I had to pick one I'd pick the one with the butterflies flying away.

Asymmetry for sure. Great work.
Love them both, but I like asymmetry better
Love your gorgeous creation! I like them both! Thanks for the inspiration!
Quite interesting reading Jani what others think!!!
... and love both but most definitely symmetry does it for me .. looks like covering a mistake when flying away (ooh did I say that?) ;D Shaz in oz.x
The look of the butterflies flying up & away is awesome, like they are off to discover a new idea. I guess that puts me on team asymmetry... :)
I love the way your glittery checked butterflies are going up the wall.
